Important Information Regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic

We are pleased to once again be able to provide elective and non-essential procedures in addition to emergency and essential treatment. We take the health and safety of our patients as well as our team members seriously. We have made every effort to comply with the additional requirements set by our regulatory bodies (RCDSO and CDHO) and Public Health Ontario in order to ensure we’re able to safely provide dental treatment with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Please read the following information below before contacting us for an appointment. We look forward to hearing from you!

What Procedures Are Being Performed?

All restorative treatment, such as fillings and extractions, are once again being performed. Dental hygiene services are being resumed, but only in a limited capacity without the generation of aerosols (ultrasonic scalers and polishing). At the present time, we are not scheduling children for hygiene visits.

What should I do if I have outstanding treatment or my appointment was cancelled between March 16, 2020 and now?

We are currently working through a significant backlog of appointments and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we do so. Our focus is to bring in individuals with more pressing treatment first, such as those that experienced pain and were managed with pharmaceuticals or those with broken teeth or infection. If you haven’t heard from us by then, or you are looking to schedule something that wasn’t already planned in, please feel free to contact us and we’ll schedule you in as soon as possible.

Anyone with an outstanding or cancelled hygiene appointment will be contacted as soon as possible, but we anticipate this backlog could take a few months to work through, so again we are grateful for your patience as we work through our lists.

I Would Like to Become a New Patient of the Office

If you are experiencing a dental issue such as pain or would like a specific area looked at, we’re more than happy to bring you in on an emergency basis and address your restorative issues. However, with our present backlog of appointments, we’re unable to perform full comprehensive exams at the present time and it will take a little while before we’re able to bring in new patients for hygiene care at our office. We apologize for this inconvenience, and for those that have expressed interest in becoming new patients, as soon as we’re caught up with our backlog, we’ll be reaching out to you to bring you in for your initial visit with us!

What Will Be Different When I Come to the Office For My Dental Visit?

You will notice a number of changes to our protocols and policies when returning to our office for dental care. The front door remains locked and only patients who have called ahead and been pre-screened for COVID-19 symptoms will be permitted to enter the office. When you arrive for your appointment, please call us and we will meet you at the door to let you in. Once you enter the office, you’ll be re-screened, your temperature will be taken with a contactless thermometer, and you will be asked to sanitize your hands. Please bring a mask with you, and if you do not have one, one will be provided to wear while you are in the office. We ask that wherever possible, patients adhere to social distancing requirements. All patients will be provided with an oral rinse prior to any treatment being performed in the dental chair.

Entry is limited to patients only. Guests will be asked to wait in the vehicle. For children that require the presence of a parent, one adult may accompany them. Support workers assisting patients with disabilities will also be permitted entry with the patient. In either case, the accompanying individual will also be screened prior to entry into the office.

We will make every effort to book your next appointment while in the dental operatory and your claim will be processed prior to arriving at the front as we are attempting to minimize the amount of time patients spend in the reception area. We are unable to accept cash payments at this time but payments can still be made by Visa, Mastercard, or Debit. You will notice we’ve added plexiglass to create a physical barrier and all items such as magazines and toys have been removed from the reception area. You’ll be asked to sanitize your hands one more time when departing.
